Only 16% of the senior seats held in the corporate sector are by women, Sheryl Sander said the main reason for this, is that women are ‘subconsciously less likely to reach for opportunities than men’. It is clear that there is a significant lack of diversity, particularly among gender in the financial services industry. We are a platform that aims to empower, engage and encourage females to foster a community which cultivates a prestigious group of UCLU Women in Finance alumni, who consciously reach for opportunities.
This year UCLU Women in Finance want to capitalise on the strong foundations that our predecessors have built; we are especially focusing on establishing a close knitted-relationship with our society members, we want to hear your ideas, suggestions and comments. ‘Co-operation over competition’ is a motto that we embrace and will always incorporate into the dynamic of our society – we believe our society culture is what distinguishes us and has allowed us to become one of the fastest growing societies in UCL.
